Reaching Out to a Hurting World …

Recent events in our extended family has caused me to ponder quite a bit how we who are reborn in the Lord Jesus Christ are witnessing to a world that is hurting and set to fall like overripe fruit to deception. A good question to ask ourselves: Are we a living testimony to the transforming Power of Christ?

Displaying the Power of God

Our life witness provides a real-time display of the miraculous transition that occurs when a soul is reborn in the Lord Jesus Christ. When no longer enslaved by sex, drugs, or alcohol, sin, death, hell and the devil people see a tangible change which presents opportunity to boldly proclaim that we were not freed by our own willpower, but by the life-changing, miraculous Power of God. Psychologists claim alcoholism is a disease, which tends to cause people to feel helpless and excuse the addiction; however, knowledge of the bible refutes this and clearly teaches the entire human family is utterly dead in sin and trespasses until repentance and rebirth in the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Church to Blame?

No longer interested in being a light on a hill to draw lost men unto the Lord Jesus Christ, many churches have chosen entertainment, motivational ‘feel-good’ teachings, and worldly growth-methods. So many churches in America so mirror the culture it is difficult to distinguish between the two. An excellent example is the ordination of men and women whose lifestyle is an abomination in the sight of God.

Tell People Hell Is Real and Eternal

Once washed white by the Blood of the Lamb Rev 7:14, 12:11, the sinner made saint has a firm grasp on the truth that the only eternity they could ever “earn” was hell, but due to God’s grace alone they are now inheritors of heaven. Anticipate persecution from those within the professing church stricken by the appease-disease which compels them to misapply, “judge not, lest ye be judged”. Granted, only the Lord Jesus Christ will judge matters of eternity, but Christians are to warn of the judgment to come!

  • For this ye know, that no whoremonger, neither unclean person, nor covetous person, which is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ, and of God.” Ephesians 5:5
  • Let no man deceive you with vain words: for, for such things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.” Ephesians 5:6
  • But all things when they are reproved of the light, are manifest: for it is light that maketh all things manifest. Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and stand up from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.” Ephesians 5:13-14
  • For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false testimonies, slanders.” Matthew 15:19
  • The thought of foolishness is sin.” Proverbs 24:9
  • The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the Lord, but the world of the pure are pleasant words.” Proverbs 15:26
  • Thou hast despised mine holy things, and polluted my Sabbaths.” Ezekiel 22:8-9
  • This know also, that in the last days shall come perilous times. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, blasphemous, proud, cursed speakers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, truce breakers, false accusers, intemperate, fierce, no lovers at all of them which are good. Traitors, high-minded, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God. Having a show of godliness, but have denied the power thereof: turn away therefore from such.” 2 Timothy 3:1-5
  • For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive simple women laden with sins, and led with divers lusts, Which women are ever learning, and are never able to come to the acknowledging of the truth.” 2 Timothy 3:6-7

Concluding with Paul’s plea:

  • I Charge thee therefore before God, and before the Lord Jesus Christ, which shall judge the quick and dead at that his appearing, and in his kingdom, Preach the word: be instant, in season, and out of season: improve, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.” 2 Timothy 4:1-2
  • For the time will come when they will not suffer wholesome doctrines: but having their ears itchings, shall after their own lusts get them an heap of teachers, And shall turn their ears from the truth, and shall be given unto fables.2 Timothy 4:3-4
  • But watch thou in all things: suffer adversity: do the work of an Evangelist: cause thy ministry to be thoroughly liked of.” 2 Timothy 4:5

Please pray for all those deceived by false teachers prowling about as sheep whose mouths are speak lies.
